about

I wrote this song around the time I was recording the "Everyone's A Critic" album.

Several people who heard it, loved it, but one of my nieces, Hannah, hated it so I just put it to one side and forgot about it.

Not my usual style of song but I think it's quite fun.

lyrics

If you’re down, and don’t know why
It’s Mr. Blue; he’s got his hooks in you
He don’t laugh, it’s not his thing
So don’t let Mr. Blue under your skin
You don’t have to play his little game
Don’t let Mr Blue have the final say

CHORUS
Here’s a song that I wrote for you
A little tune to stop you feeling blue
If you’re sad and you don’t know why
It’s Mr. Blue he’s got his hooks in you
Here’s a song that I wrote for you
A little tune to stop you feeling blue
If you’re down and don’t know why
It’s time to kiss, kiss Mr Blue goodbye

Close the door, don’t let him in
You’ve got to keep, keep Mr. Blue at bay
The brightest day, he’ll make dark
He’ll try to wipe all the smiles away
But you don’t have to play his little game
Don’t let Mr Blue have the final say
