Matt and I had been working on a lot of material and this song was one that Matt wrote, primarily for himself.
Usually, Matt will give me the lyrics then leave me alone to write the music but, in this instance, there was a lot of collaboration from Matt on the music and from me on the lyrics. So, who wrote what is a bit of a moot point as we both did.
I have loved this song from the beginning and it took several years before I asked Matt if he would mind if I re-recorded it for myself. The idea being that I would release this song as a single. I guess, having this song floating around and not really having another song that I felt was suitable to be released along with it, has led finally to this album.
lyrics
Together For Ever
Together for ever, I would wait a lifetime for you
Together for ever, I would lay my heart on the line
I'll stay 'til the end of time just to hear you say that you'll be mine
Together for ever, for just a moment inside the picture frame
Together for ever, I know it sounds stupid but
There are no words to explain
how my love is linked
Is linked to your name.
CHORUS
And I love your smile,
I love your touch, 'cos I know it's so right
And I love our dreams,
I love the moments together
when you're in my heart
You take me high with love's embrace,
I know my soul will never, ever let go
You are the breath, that gives me life,
we'll be together 'til the end
‘til the end of days
Together for ever, we took our chances me and you
Together for ever, no-one can break, what's meant to be
You are the key you’re my destiny,
you fill my dreams and all my fantasies.
Together for ever, I know our love will never end
Together for ever, you are my heartbeat, you're my best friend
I know I don't have to pretend 'cos my love is linked
Is linked to your name
CHORUS
Together for ever, I will share my lifetime with you
