Cry (Bonus Track)

from Red Thread by Rob Tunbridge

/

about

This song was written ages ago and is another of the tracks that Stuart and I did way back when and that I think stands the test of time.

Although family and friends have a version of this that I recorded, many years ago, this is the first proper recording I have made of the song.

I love the simplicity of this song and although I have tried to do other versions of it, I have always returned, as closely as I can, to the original version which I believe works best.

This track is here especially for my sister Angela. This one's for you Sis, love you loads.

lyrics

CRY

Why turn away with that look in your eye?
Why do you say you believe all their lies?
The feelings inside you try to deny
Hurt so much it's no wonder you cry

Why did you say all the things that you said?
Why did you let your heart rule your head?
No-one said it was easy to do
Nobody said it was all up to you

You cry at night for a love once divine
You cry at night for a love now denied

Why do you read your diary at night?
Why fool yourself it will be alright?
the picture you've got is tear stained and torn
wonder why you're keeping it at all

Why do you listen to false hearted friends?
Why fool yourself that it had to end?
No-one else but yourself to blame
know that love can never be the same

You cry at night for a love once divine
You cry at night for a love now denied
You cry at night for a love once divine
You cry at night for a love now denied
